Gymnasts are invited into the squad class as they have been identified by experienced coaches as having potential and an aptitude for the sport at a competitive level.
Highly experienced coaching staff support gymnasts to train in an enjoyable and safe environment to help the girls meet their maximum potential.
Squad gymnasts have the opportunity to compete at county, regional and national levels. Club leotards will be made available for squad members for these competitions. For general training, girls will be required to wear their own leotard.
The gymnasts train on four different pieces of apparatus, including: vault, uneven bars, beam and floor, which are all the elements of artistic gymnastics.
In order to be successful a squad gymnast will need to attend regularly, be committed to their training programme and develop a high level of self-discipline.
